I don't use Scrum in my Remote Teams because it used to add at least 8 hours of meetings per Sprint. That's 2 full days of lost productivity, per team member, per month!

I had this life changing $125k/year job offer on the table, and my future employer asks me "How can I hire you?" It was 2016, and this employer had never hired anyone remotely outside the USA. They were clueless about visas, contracts, invoices, payments, etc.

Starting to earn a US-salary was greatbut the fact that this salary bump didn't come with a massive increase in COL was the biggest factor to increase my savings rate and overall quality of life.

Today I'm telling you the full back story of how I landed my first remote job. It was a few months of hard work and fast iteration. But I got a high paying remote job for a US startup.
